Annual Blog Entry!

Well, it's nearly a year since I last made a blog entry. Hard to believe that it's almost time for my annual appearance in the RDS. This year the show is titled Art Source, and it takes place from the 9th to the 11th of November. I have changed location this year, and you will find me in the centre of the hall, at stand A45. Hopefully it will another well attended show.

Last year at the RDS I had the opportunity once again to meet gallery owners, and following our meetings I was invited to exhibit in two new galleries. A number of my seascapes are now hanging in 'Kenny's Gallery' in Lahinch. This is a spacious gallery run by Carmel Kenny, and it's a lovely gallery space.

I have also been exhibiting work in a beautiful new gallery called 'Gallery @ No. Six' on South Anne Street, which is just off Grafton Street. Along with my original paintings, the gallery also stocks a range of my greeting cards. The gallery has almost reached the end of their first year in business, and it's been terrific working with them. So, it's been a productive and busy year. Apart from all things art, the highlight of the year was probably a trip to Indonesia this summer. Unfortunately I couldn't pack my easel but I did take countless photographs!

And on to Kilkenny....

What a great weekend in Wexford! The festival this year was even bigger and better than before. Artists arrived from all corners of the globe and descended on the streets of Wexford and Enniscorthy. Thankfully, the locals didn't seem to mind the invasion! I really enjoyed being 'poster girl' for the event too!

And now, on to Kilkenny. I am delighted to be exhibiting with Anne Ryan McGree during the Kilkenny Arts Festival. The exhibition takes place in Butler Court, Patrick Street. It will be officially opened on Thursday the 4th at 6.30pm, by Mayor David Fitzgerald. The exhibition opens daily from 10am to 6pm and continues until the 14th of August.

Butler Court is a beautiful spacious venue, and I will be in the larger room upstairs. I'm looking forward to exhibiting many new pieces, such as the image above. Alongside my new originals, it will be my first time exhibiting my latest prints and of course my expanding greeting card collection.

Anne is a Kilkenny based artist and returns to this venue for the second time. She will be exhibiting her beautiful watercolours, prints and cards downstairs.

Hopefully you can join us on Thursday evening for a glass of wine!

Greeting cards now available online!

Following the popularity of my greeting cards at previous exhibitions, they are now available to purchase direct from my website.

My Belleek Woods series of paintings and prints have been so admired that I have chosen these two images to feature in my specially designed greeting card wallets. There are ten cards and envelopes in this wallet. The A6 sized cards are blank inside for your own message. Printed in Ireland using litograph printing, they are of exceptional quality. Thanks to Paul for all his hard work on the design side of things!

Click here to check them out, and perhaps make a purchase online! Just in time for Mother's Day too....

I am very excited by the arrival of my newly designed greeting cards and wallets. I hope to have these available to purchase directly from my website shortly, but more about that very soon....

A big THANK YOU!

A big THANK YOU to all those of you who came along to see my artwork during the recent exhibitions in Wexford, and in the RDS last weekend. I was very happy with the two shows, and it was great to see so many familiar faces visiting!

So, where to next? For those of you in the West why not pop in to visit Perspectives 5, a group exhibition in the Ballina Arts Centre. This show runs from the 1st to the 23rd of December. It will be my third year participating in this annual show and there is always a vast array of talent on display. This is indeed a very exciting time for Ballina Arts Centre as the redevelopment work nears completion. We are all looking forward to the reopening of an exciting, modern arts venue for Ballina!
